Boomlift Operator Safety Precautions Boom Lift Training Licence price
1. Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety harness, gloves and safety glasses.
2. Perform pre-operation checks of the boomlift, such as inspecting for leaks and ensuring all controls are working properly.
3. Read the operator’s manual before operating a boomlift to ensure proper usage and understanding of all controls.
4. Inspect the area around the work site prior to use and ensure it is free from obstructions that may impede movement of the boomlift.
5. Operate at speeds recommended by manufacturer while traveling in both elevated and ground positions.
6. Ensure personnel on the platform have their hands and feet safely within handholds and steps while platform is in motion or elevating/descending.
7. When transporting personnel with the platform, ensure load limits are not exceeded per manufacturer guidelines; ensure persons in transport maintain three-point contact on secure handholds when possible
8. Avoid sudden starts/stops and abrupt turns when operating boomlift; keep work areas clear of obstructions that may interfere with steering capabilities or control performance of machine.
9. Stay within safe operating range of rated capacity; overloads can cause tipping or other equipment damage or failure .
10 . Before descending from the boomlift platform, ensure all work has been completed and no objects have been left behind; always utilize safe descent procedures as instructed by your operator’s manual when getting off a boom lift
